The morning birding tour will go to Blakeley Bar, Gaillard (Pelican) Island & loop around Middle Bay Lighthouse each day from 8:00am - 11:00am April 5th - 9th. If you want to see the island that played a huge part in increasing the brown pelican population since the ban of DDT, you will want to join this trip! We will see hundreds of pelicans nesting right up close and personal. There are also 15 other species of birds that inhabit this island including skimmers, stilts, terns, egrets, herons, and ibis. Gailliard Island is the sole Alabama nesting site for caspian, sandwich, and royal terns, and laughing gulls. Next, we will observe the Middle Bay Lighthouse and Captain John Michael will share some history of Mobile Bay.

The afternoon birding tour will explore the Lower Mobile-Tensaw Delta each day from 12:30pm - 3:30pm April 4th - 9th. We will experience one of the most biodiverse areas in all of the nation. This will be an opportunity to see numerous shore birds, wading birds and of course - it is migration, so it is possible to even see rare bird species! The Lower Delta is also home to a few mammals including nutria rats, raccoons, otters, and manatee; reptiles (mostly the American alligator) and tons of Flora.
